Great revolutionary Indian freedom fighter Pandit Shyamaji Krishnavarma contributed immensely to Indias Freedom movement through his revolutionary concept of non cooperation and establishment of Indian Home Rule Society. Panditji birthplace and home town is Madai(Mandvi),Kachchh. Through this book the Author Hemantkumar Gajanan Padhya has fulfilled his dream project of sincere tribute to the Great Freedom Fighter. Book Introduction
This is a photographic biography in tribute to the great revolutionary Indian freedom fighter, Pandit Shyamaji Krishnavarma. He began India’s Freedom movement in London, twenty years before Gandhiji entered into the arena of Indian Freedom movement. Due to a political conspiracy, Pandit Shyamaji’s name is not as well-known as Gandhiji. However, his sacrifice for his Motherland was far greater than any other famous Indian freedom fighters, who were exalted after Indian Independence. Pandit Shyamaji established “Indian Home Rule Society”, published “Indian Sociologist” a beacon for Indian Independence and established “India House”, a hostel for Indian students to reside in London from 1905.
He pioneered the Non-cooperation Movement, who demanded, Sampurna Swarajya, complete freedom of India twenty-four years before Gandghiji necessitated it in 1929. Pandit Shyamaji was the first person to contest against the British salt policy and called it “a grievous salt monopoly” twenty-five years before Gandhiji launched ”Salt Satyagrah” at Dandi in 1930.
This publication is a sincere dedication by the author, to revive the memories of Pandit Shyamaji Krishnavarma, a very real but forgotten hero of Indian Independence.
About the author
Hemantkumar Gajanan Padhya was born at Khattalwada, Gujarat state. He has resided in the UK for thirty-four years, promoting Indian Arts, Culture and Vedic Religion.
Mr Padhya has actively dedicated himself to research and revive the memory of Pandit Shyamaji Krishnavarma, since the Golden Jubilee year of Indian Independence. He established an organisation called, Hindu Swatantryavir Smruti Sansthanam in that year and took up the task of fulfilling the desire and last wishes of Pandit Shyamaji and his wife, to send their asthis (ashes) to Independent India. Mr Padhya has played a vital role in the process of sending the urns with the ashes of Pandit Shyamaji and his wife from Geneva, Switzerland to Mandavi, Bharat in 2003. This took place seventy-three years after Shyamji’s passing and fifty-six years after Independence of Bharat. This would not have been possible without Mr Padhya’s determination and contribution to the cause

The book contains 240 colour pages of colour and black and white photographs of Pandit Shyaamaji,his relatives, the places where he lived, the prominent people associated with him etc. This is my dedicated dream project of sincere tribute to A Great Freedom Fighter Pandit Shyamaji Krishnavarma. ભારતમાં સ્વાતંત્ર્યવીર પંડિત શ્યામજી કૃષ્ણવર્માજીની સ્મૃતિને જ્વલંત રાખવાનાં અને એમની અસ્થી ભારત લાવવાનાં પ્રયત્નોતો કાળાંતરે થતાં રહ્યાં પરંતુ યેન કેન પ્રકારેણ એ કાર્યમાં કોઈ સફળતા પ્રાપ્ત થઈ શકી ન હતી. આવી પરિસ્થિતિમાં મિ્લ્ટન કિન્સ, યુનઈટેડ કિંગ્ડમ, ખાતે સ્થાયી થયેલ વલસાડ જીલ્લાનાં ખત્તલવાડા ગામનાં મૂળવતની હેમંતકુમાર ગજાનન પાધ્યાએ પોતાની રાષ્ટ્રવાદી વિચારધારા અને માતૃભૂમિ પ્રત્યે અથાગ પ્રેમભાવના હોવાથી ભારતની સ્વતંત્રતાની સુવર્ણ જયંતીનાં શુભ વર્ષમાં ‘’ હિંદુ સ્વાતંત્ર્ય સ્મૃતિ સંસ્થાનમ’ નામની સંસ્થાની શરુઆત કરી અને સ્વાતંત્ર્યવીર પંડિત શ્યામજી કૃષ્ણવર્માજીની અસ્થિને ભારત મોકલાવવાનાં દ્રઢ નિશ્ચય સાથે પ્રયત્નો આદર્યાં. પાંચ વર્ષનાં અથાગ અને સતત પરિશ્રમ અને સ્વયં જીનીવા જઈને ત્યાંની સ્થાતિક સરકાર વિલ્લે ડિ જીનીવનાં પ્રમુખ મી. મેન્યુએલ ટૉરનેર, કાયદાનાં સલાહકાર મિસીસ મએરી ફ્રન્ક્વ લકર-બાબેલ તેમજ શ્યામજી અને ભાનુતિજીનાં હંગામી વકિલ મિ. મૌરીસ હેસ સાથે ઘણી વાતચિતોને અંતે વસિયત અને ત્યાંનાં કાયદાઓની માન્યતા મુજબ અસ્થિઓ સોંપવા માટે સહમત કર્યાં. ત્યાનાં કાયદા મૂજબ એમાં ભારત સરકારની પરવાનગીની જરૂર હોવાનાં કારણે લંદનથી મુંબઈ જઈ ત્યાંનાં સક્રીય કાર્યકર શ્રી મંગળભાઈ ભાનુશાલીને ઘાટકોપર મુકામે ૨૦૦૨નાં વર્ષમા મળી ચર્ચા કરી. એ સમયનાં મુલુંડ્નાં ધારસભ્ય શ્રી કિરીટ્ભાઈ સોમૈયાની મદદથી એમનાં જ દફ્તરમાં યોજનાની મુર્ત સ્વરુપ ત્યારનાં એક્સટર્નલ અફેર મિનિસ્ટર શ્રી વિનોદજી ખન્ના્ની મદદ વડે કાર્યને આગળ ધપાવ્યું અને અંતે ભારતથી આપણાં મુખ્ય મંત્રી મહોદય શ્રી નરેન્દ્રજી મોદીએ ભારત સરકારનાં પ્રતિનિધિ તરીકે તા. ૨૨મી ઓગસ્ટ ૨૦૦૩નાં શુભ દિને અસ્થીનો સ્વિકાર કરી ભારત લઈ ગયા અને વિરાંજલી યાત્રા રૂપે સન્માન અપાવ્યું. સર્વનાં સહયોગથી પંડિત શ્યામજીની આખરી ઈચ્છા પરિપુર્ણ કરાવ્યાં બાદ હેમંત કુમાર પાધ્યાએ શ્યામજીની સ્મૃતિને સાચવવા અને જ્વલંત રાખવાં સતત પ્રયત્નો આદર્યાં. ઈંગ્લંડ ખાતે ક્રાંતિવીર પંડિત શ્યામજીની સ્મૃતિને જાળવવાનાં એમનાં પ્રશંસનીય અને ચીર સ્મરણિય પ્રસંગોનાં કાર્યોની સુચી નીચે મુજબ છે.
[૧] ૧૯૯૭ થી ૨૦૦૩ સુધી પંડિત શ્યામજીની આખરી ઈચ્છા પરિપુર્ણ કરાવવાં અથાગ પ્રયત્નો અને શ્યામજી પર શોધખોળ. ૧૯૯૮-૨૦૦૨માં પંડિત શ્યામજીના જીવન પર જીનીવા, આમ્સ્ટંરડામમાં ચિત્ર પ્રદર્શન.
[૨] ૨૨-૦૮-૨૦૦૩નાં શુભ દિવસે અસ્થી સ્વિકાર સમારંભમાં હાજરી.
[૩] ૧૫-૦૮-૨૦૦૪ ૨૦૦૩નાં શુભ દિવસે પંડિત શ્યામજીનાં લંડન ખાતેનાં ૬૦,મસ્વેલ હિલ રોડ, હાઈગેઈટ, ઘર પર સ્મૃતિ તક્તિનું અનવરણ વિધી શહીદ નાનકસિંઘના પુત્ર અને લંડનનાં અગ્રગણ્ય વ્યાપારી શ્રી રામીજી રેંજર ના હસ્તે કરાવ્યું.
[૪] સ્વાતંત્ર્યવીર પંડિત શ્યામજી કૃષ્ણવર્માજીની સ્મૃતિંમાં ૧૦૦ ગ્રાંમનો ચાંદીનો સિક્કો બહાર પાડયો.
[૫] સ્વાતંત્ર્યવીર શ્રદ્ધાંજલી અર્પણ કરતાં પોતે લખેલ કાવ્યોની પુસ્તિકા’કાવ્યાંજલી’ નું પ્રકાશન

[૮] ૨૦૦૫ નાં વર્ષમાં ઓક્સફર્ડ યુનિવર્સીટી સ્મૃતિમાં બે રૌપ્ય ચંદ્રકોની સ્થાપના. સંસ્કૃત ભાષા અને વેદિકધર્મ પર શંશોધન કરનાર વિદ્વાનને દર બે વર્ષે અર્પણ [૧] કોલેજ દે ફ્રાન્સ, સબોર્ન યુનિવર્સીટી, પેરીસ [૨] ઓક્સફર્ડ સેન્ટર ફોર હિન્દુ સ્ટડીઝ, ઓક્સફર્ડ યુનિવર્સીટી, ઓક્સફર્ડ
[૯] ચાર વર્ષનાં પ્રયત્નો પછિ ઓક્સફર્ડ યુનિવર્સીટી્ની ઇંડિયન ઈંસ્ટિટ્યુટ પુસ્તકાલયમાં પંડિત શ્યામજી કૃષ્ણવર્માજીનાં ચિત્રને ભેટ આપી ૧૦મી મે ૨૦૧૦નાં દિને અનાવરણ કરાવ્યું.
